I will admit it...

I was a little bored during nap time without a computer in the house. Is that sad, or what? There are a million things I could do during 2 hours, but I'd rather read up on everyone's life and check my email incessantly like I'm some important person that gets tons of email everyday??? It was a good break, but, I'm behind in blogging again. It happens so quickly! Thanks to my super mom-in-law, we have a computer again! Sharon came through town last week and dropped off an extra laptop she had. It feels great to be back in civilization.

I'll save Morgan's 5 month post for later (5 months, holy cow!), baby dedication, Mother's Day, and Mallory's cute stuff for a later post. Instead, I will show off my husband's hard work in our yard!

I've wanted to get rid of the shrubs in our front yard pretty much since the first time we looked at our house. They were boring green overgrown shrubs. I wanted a real flower bed with curves and different shrubs and everything. So, after looking like idiots when we showed up to a nursery without a clue what we were doing, going home to measure and plan, we got it finished! I think it's a big improvement to what was there. Hopefully two things will happen: #1 the plants will thrive! and #2 we will keep it looking pretty by keeping up with pruning, pulling weeds and adding more to it eventually. Here's a couple of pictures.

This obviously isn't our yard, but I just wanted to point out the super cute doormat my parents gave me for my birthday. I love it! Mom, your listening skills are improving:) I think I only mentioned 100 times how much I loved Kelly's doormat. And the second thing I'll point out is that my flowers are still alive!

I think the hardest part of planting anything is waiting for it to grow! These pictures makes all the plants look so wimpy. You can also see that we have lava rock (or charcoal as we affectionately call it) in the bed. I was NOT a fan of this when we moved into the house. But, after almost 2 years now, Brad has convinced me that it serves a great purpose when it rains. There would be mulch everywhere after all the rain we had last week!

Unfortunately, we have much more on our "to-do" list that won't be quite as fun, or rewarding!!

Since I got to see it first hand last week, I agree, the pics don't do it justice. It really does look good. You guys are great on projects! Can't wait to see the 5 month pics of Morgan. Loved getting to at least see them for a few minutes.

It looks good. You should show a before picture. I don't remember what was there.

#1 I, too, am addicted to checking my email every 30 minutes like I'm important and then am disappointed when there is no new mail! ;) Shocker!
#2 The house looks great! I totally understand. My summer flowers are just starting to come up (the stalks) and I just look at them every day begging them to HURRY UP! Brad did a great job. Our huge shrub was covering our house, too, and digging it up was a great day...AFTER we were finished. That's not fun. My husband loves landscaping stuff and he is great at it, too, and after 2 years, I am totally addicted. Of course, he can mow the yard, trim the bushes and trees, and plan the "scheme", and I will be totally proud of my flower bed and whatever springs forth. I love it!

I am so ready for a house that i can do stuff too. I am just about done with the rent house business, but can't complain since we don't actually pay rent (thanks parents). Anyway, the plants look good and I am impressed with the flowers being alive by the door. I am the worst about keeping plants alive. I will get better... I hope!! Oh, and I will call you back, hopefully tomorrow during naptime.
