It's raining, it's pouring...

...and Mallory is snoring...finally! That girl is stubborn. I don't know where she gets it from! She normall takes 3-4 naps during the day. Today? Only 1 early this morning. That makes for a very grumpy girl. But now she is sleeping peacefully and it is raining outside. Who wouldn't want to take a nap while it's raining? Below is a picture of her feet with rain drops on them. I contemplated setting her on our sidewalk in her bouncy chair to feel the drops, but then thought this would be nicer:) She wasn't very interested, so we came back inside.


Well, I guess I better update on the games from Saturday. Everyone knows how UT did...booo! UMHB didn't do much better. They lost in overtime 3-2. Brad was actually pleased with the way they came back in the second half to tie up the game. But unfortunately, it didn't lead to a win. We've got a busy week though. Games on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Oh boy! Hopefully we'll come away happy campers.

Today is September 11th. I always thought it was so interesting how vividly my parents could remember where they were/what they were doing when JFK got shot. Now I have my own "JFK" to tell Mallory about. I was leaving my apartment in Abilene to go to clinicals. I turned on the radio and the first plane had hit. I thought "How in the world can a pilot not see the World Trade Center right in front of him?" It wasn't until I got to clinicals and saw the TV that I realized what really happened. I was stunned. Our instructors let us go early. That was nice of them, but we were all glued to the TV all day and had a test the next day. Nice. It still doesn't seem real to me even after 5 years and all the video that has captured it. I guess I just can't believe people are that cruel and messed up. Recently, after watching all of the specials on TV, I've been thinking more about the firefighters. They had to have known they weren't going to survive after they started the trek up the stairs. Amazing sacrifice. I just can't fathom it. Thank you Lord for the people that choose those professions.

On a lighter note, Kelly is staying with us tonight. That will be fun to see her growing belly. For those that don't know, she and Wade are having a boy! We have to wait until the end of September for Kelly to decide on the name. It's driving Wade crazy! Us too!
